Something To Think About

I haven't written anything new in awhile now so I figured it was time.  I sat down yesterday with good intentions to post something when I found Smokey and the Bandit on Encore.  I have to watch it every time it is on and yesterday proved to be no exception!  It is amazing to me how Bandit's car and Snowman's truck came out of the whole event completely unscathed in spite of ramming other vehicles, being jumped or driving across a stream!  Classic Burt Reynolds.  Too bad I get distracted so easily because I have heaps of things to talk about.

Things have been busy as usual around here, I have been going to physical therapy twice a week and Ron has been playing disc golf on Tuesday evenings.  We are also just super popular and have been enjoying different social activities.  Last Sunday we went to the Phoenix Suns - Dallas Mavericks game and Steve Nash totally tried to get my attention the entire game!  He was all running around and jumping trying to call attention to himself.  I was able to resist, mostly because I was distracted by the fact that we got nacho cheese on my new tiny Coach bag!  And the Suns lost!

Ron and I are calling shenanigans on the major inter net search engines.  We have long suspected and now have confirmation that Google and Yahoo are in cahoots but we suspect that Wikipedia is in on the scheme.  Have you ever noticed when you type a subject or title in the search line on Google or Yahoo that one of the responses that gets returned is always a link to Wikipedia?  That is unless you are searching for a video clip, then you will always get a link to YouTube.  Easy enough, click the link, find what you were looking for.  Lately I have tried outright going directly to Wikipedia or YouTube to do my searches but I always come up empty.  Then I copy the same information to Yahoo or Google and get a pile of results.  Try it sometime, we were looking for information about a town in Pennsylvania that has a fire burning in coal mines underneath it.  Couldn't find it when we searched Wikipedia but when we seared in Yahoo it gave us a link to Wikipedia!  I believe we have made our point!

OMG I so want to go there and I'm not in any hurry since the fires are going to be going for eternity! That was referenced in the book "Walk in the Woods"

Long time listener?! Dude, not for nothin' but this isn't The Hillman Morning Show, this is The Big Deal Column! But now I am thinking that my own radio show would be pretty sweet....

Anyway, yes, Centralia, PA is referenced in "A Walk in the Woods", I believe that is where the author ditched the Appalachian Trail when he decided he didn't want to walk in the woods anymore. In fact, that is how we even knew about the town because Ron has the book! We totally want to go there too, maybe we should plan a big field trip to Pennsylvania someday! Just think, we can roast marhmallows just about anywhere in that town!
